Values Semester Exams are missing

If you’re not ready for the world waiting outside of your college life, you’ll not survive in the industry unless you got yourself equipped with your tools. -Nagendra Singh Yadav

We’re all messed up because of the semester examination which emphasizes “the more a candidate or student learns, the more they grow”. This proves to be a false statement at the later stage, and I don’t expect all to agree with me in the beginning

Core values lost due to semester

1. Reality is different than that of your books

Consider you’ve got just 6 months of the semester which in reality are of 4 months. The candidate these days don’t want to waste their little time banging their heads on those thick sets of books. I get that because everyone is stressed about how better we can present ourselves in front of this world. They started planning out to explore options and work on that. For a fresher, this pain is unimaginable. They’ve got to opt for some courses which can get them ahead of everyone in this race. So you’ve lost the focus on your academics in the end.

2. No focus on personality development

This never happens as some of us are only worried about the mark sheets. How got marks we can obtain after every examination. No one wants to know how good you’re in academics, they just want to see a healthy score throughout your studies. In the middle of everything, no one pays attention to -

"Academics are good, but now I’ve to represent myself in front of the interviewer, how am I suppose to do that? "

The best solution to this problem is mirror exercise. If you've got a phobia, and you’re unable to speak in front of the audience, try mirror exercise for 5 mins every day. This will help you in gaining a huge amount of motivation and results in turning positivity into your mind.

This is the solution when you’ve got lesser time for working upon these things.

3. Outdated knowledge about recruitment

This is 2020 and I still see a lot of folks training candidates for group discussion. I’ve seen the last use of GD in 2015–2016. They’ve stopped adding it to the part of recruitment because they got less time and this makes the recruitment more typical than it is already. Instead of GD, they’ve got everything clubbed in HR interview as it saves a lot of time.

Instead, the focus should be shifted towards:

“How to represent yourself and stand and deliver on anything, when required”.

Other core values lost due to semester

  • Lack of knowledge about industry trends.
  • More focus on the book knowledge.
  • No break to drained brains.
  • Higher Stress.
  • Students cannot find time for themselves.
  • Hours of lectures turn out to be a waste.
  • Absence of carrier advisers from the industry.
  • Everyone talks about being doctor or coder, but there are other job profiles too.
